Will my credit score follow me if I move?

If I file for bankruptcy in New York and move to another state like Pennsylvania, will I be denied for a mortgage or any loan there?

  1. Your credit report will likely have your bankruptcy on it. Really doesn’t matter what state you move too. The mortgage company will check for any bankruptcies and they will probably ask you for that information. It will be more difficult to obtain a mortgage but not impossible.
