Is bankruptcy a good option for me?

I am only 20 yrs. old, however, me and my fiance used a credit card after I found out I was pregnant to get an apartment and such. So I owe on that 1000+. Then when the baby came, my fathers insurance dropped me 2 days before the baby came. Now I'm stuck with those bills as well. Is bankruptcy a good option for me?

  • It depends on your debt levels. If you owe around $1,000, bankruptcy probably doesn't make sense, since your legal fees may be more than what you owe. If your debts are greater than that amount, bankruptcy may make sense, if you don't believe you will be able to repay these amounts.
