I can't afford an attorney

I am experiencing some financial hardship and need to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy but don't have money for an attorney. Are there any options for me? Should I file myself? Should I consider consumer credit counseling?

  • Consumer credit counseling is an option. Yes, you can file chapter 7 yourself, but the forms are complex, and it is important to file them correctly. We suggest you contact a bankruptcy attorney to see if they have payment arrangments to help you with the process.
