I helped my daughter get out of debt using my credit cards but now it is too much for me to handle so I decided to look into Chapter 13. I paid a lawyer and now he is telling me that it\’s too soon to file and the debt is so high the creditors will show up and want their money. I\’m very worried about what to do. I can\’t make the payments but I don\’t want to get into trouble. Any help would be appreciated…what should I do?
I have filed Chapter 7 and now wish to sell my home. The equity from the sale of my home is not going to be reinvested in another residence. Is my money safe or will the trustee get it?
My spouse is going to file personal chapter7, prior to a divorce. Leaving me with the bulk of the debt. How do joint accounts play into this situation?
We are in a Chapter 13 Wage Earner Plan. It is extremely hard making the payments because there is not enough income left to pay necessary living expenses. If an emergency were to come up with the house or car, etc., we don’t have any extra. We don’t even have enough to pay now. Is there anything we can do?
If one spouse is experiencing financial difficulty (credit card debt in his name only, dental debt, etc.) can he file bankruptcyand it not affect the other spouse? Will paperwork have to be filed with spouse’s information?
