We are facing Chapter 7. Had consult with one attny earlier in year, he made it sound all good for life after bankruptcy. I know credit will go, can anyone tell me how hard it will be to obtain auto insurance, etc. If we reaffirm a credit card debt and pay it off, will they cancel afterwards?
I am very concerned about life after bankruptcy. Will be greatful for any advice or experiences that can be shared.

I do not know what stage you are in. Have you become late in payments? Why do you need to claim. You may be able to get a credit card that you do not list on your debts. Do not use it--have it to use when you claim.

There should be no problem. The costs may be more.

I filed chap 13 almost 2 years ago. I still have the same insurance so I'm not sure what would happen if I had to get new insurance.  I'm guessing though it's like everything else - credit will be way more expensive after bankruptcy.  But you will be able to get credit again.  It takes some time and, like I said, you'll pay a lot more for it.

I still have my insurance but had a cc through the same company and feel like crap because I had to give it up because they (bankruptcy proceeding) said I had to. I wanted to keep paying on it but they said no. I had them for 19 years.
