I got 7.000 dollars in credit card debt in the states because I moved to canada and I wasn't able to work for almost a year and a half due to my immigration process. Now I am Permanent resident, I am working but making just 11 dollars per hour I see very hard to pay back that money. For many months I have been sending money to the US but I am just paying the interests and the balance does seem to go down. I have been thinking about filing for Bankruptcy in USA to eliminate that debt! I was told I cant file for bankruptcy in USA because I am not living there. I would like to know what should I do, if my credit rate in canada would be affected and how can I file my Bankruptcy in USA if now I am living here!
